Howdy!

Attached is the official information from NASA GSFC regarding the total lunar eclipse of May 15-16 (local time). Let’s hope for good weather so we can all go outside and enjoy it. Most smart phone cameras will work well for photographing the event. Don’t forget to disable the flash.

- The entire eclipse event will be visible from our location.

- Times on the attachment are Universal Time (UT). Since we are under daylight time, subtract 5 hours from the UT times given for Central Daylight Time (CDT).

- Eclipse begins (first contact) at 01:32:07 UT (8:32 P.M. CDT, May 15, 2022)

- Greatest eclipse (totality) is at 04:11:06 UT (11:11 P.M. CDT, May 15, 2022)

- Wikipedia article on Umbra and Penumbra<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umbra,_penumbra_and_antumbra__;!!KwNVnqRv!A7hhyMEG8Fn3kOHcr04hPaVpATTFRickPfxVrBRF4BPGeQixOWBYZuQMsUHcUh7y8LDiqOvpl010O6SnXTg$> if you need a reference.

Have Fun!
