Hi, All:
I wanted to bring this to your attention. It would be great to have a strong showing at this from our department!
Please note the deadline for applications is only 2 weeks after Fall term starts, so if you’d like to attend (we’ll pay), then please be working during the summer to get your abstract (and research) ready.
Best regards,
Matt

Tarleton State University invites you to participate in the Texas A&M System 14th Annual Pathways Student Research Symposium to be held on Thursday, November 2 through Friday, November 3 in the Barry B. Thompson Student Center on the Stephenville, TX campus.
The Symposium is open to all Texas A&M system students with separate categories for undergraduate, master, and doctoral level research. The Pathways Student Research Symposium provides an opportunity for students to present research in a poster or oral format, while interacting and discussing the research with faculty, judges, and other participants. The symposium also provides the participants with a broader exposure to the TAMUS community.
A&M-Commerce Support
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) will support a very limited*number of students who submit an approved research abstract for the symposium.
Support includes travel (students will travel to symposium in a bus), hotel (rooms will be shared with other students), and registration fees. You should only need money for food, snacks or incidentals during your trip. Travel arrangements will be made through Ms. Donna Russell in the ORSP at 903-886-5964 or orsp at tamuc.edu<mailto:orsp at tamuc.edu>.
CHECKLIST TO APPLY TO PRESENT AT SYMPOSIUM
1. Your research must be approved by your faculty advisor and the ORSP. Your advisor must complete the Pathways Approval Form<http://www.tamuc.edu/research/documents/Pathways%20Research%20Approval.docx>. The approval form and your research abstract must be submitted by September 11, 2017 via email to the ORSP (orsp at tamuc.edu<mailto:orsp at tamuc.edu?subject=Pathways>).
If your abstract is part of a group effort, each student must present a separate abstract for their portion of that project.
2. You and your advisor will be notified whether your research project is approved or not.
There are a very limited* number of participants and judges allowed, so you should submit your approval form and abstract as soon as you can.
3. You must also have successfully completed the Responsible Conduct of Researchtraining, as well as the completion of any other required compliance training in order to participate. If you have any questions regarding the training, please contact Ms. Glenda Denton (glenda.denton at tamuc.edu<mailto:glenda.denton at tamuc.edu>) or 903-886-5766.
All information and guidelines regarding registration, abstracts, oral, and poster presentations is located at http://www.tarleton.edu/pathways/index.html. Approval forms and abstracts may be submitted beginning June 1, 2017.
Deadline for registration is September 11, 2017, or when all positions have been filled.
Please view the Pathways website http://www.tarleton.edu/pathways/index.html for updated information about presentation sessions, guidelines, etc.
For additional information or questions, please contact Ms. Donna Russell (donna.russell at tamuc.edu<mailto:donna.russell at tamuc.edu>) or 903-886-5964, or in person on campus in LIB 225.
* The number of students will be limited. Once that predetermined number has been met and a small waitlist created, the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs will stop accepting any further applications/abstracts and you will be unable to participate in the symposium. No exceptions will be made.
Faculty are also encouraged to participate in the judging process. We are also limited this year on the number of faculty who may attend, so please let orsp at tamuc.edu<mailto:orsp at tamuc.edu?subject=Judge%20for%20Pathways> know as soon as possible if you can judge at this event.
