Undergrads:

Just want to remind you to explore summer internship opportunities. One of the best avenues is the Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) summer intern programs, funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). There’s programs for all areas supported by NSF. You work ~10 weeks with a faculty member doing a research project, travel and housing is paid and the stipends are quite good. Fantastic experience that I can’t recommend highly enough. I’d love to have many of our students participating in this program. Applications are relatively simple.
