Subject: Invitation to apply to APS CUWiP
Dear Colleague,
We are organizing a site of the 2017 APS Conference for Undergraduate Women in Physics. Will you please forward this announcement and poster to undergraduate students who participated in your REU program and any undergraduate who you think might be interested? If you or your students have any concerns, please reply to this email (cuwip2017 at g.harvard.edu<http://g.harvard.edu/>). We hope to see some of your students in January!
The 2017 Northeast site of the APS Conference for Undergraduate Women in Physics (CUWiP) will be held at Harvard on January 13-15, 2017. CUWiP is a network of conferences for undergraduate students that aims to help undergraduate women continue in physics. You do not need to be a physics major to apply! The CUWiP application is here<http://www.aps.org/programs/women/workshops/cuwip.cfm>. Applications are due October 14, 2016.
Additionally, we invite you to apply to attend the first-ever Supporting Inclusion of Underrepresented Peoples (SPIN UP) workshop on January 12th - 13th, 2017. The application is here<https://sites.google.com/site/harvardcuwip/application/spin-up-application>. Priority will be given to students who apply by October 14, 2016.
We encourage you to apply whether you are a freshman taking your first physics class or a senior thinking about your next step after graduation. All meals and lodging are provided by the conference. Additional financial assistance is available for all participants; more information can be found on our website<https://sites.google.com/site/harvardcuwip/application>. There will be the opportunity for students who have done research to present their work by giving a poster or a short talk. Students who have not done research are also welcome and encouraged to apply.
To recap:
The CUWiP application is here<http://www.aps.org/programs/women/workshops/cuwip.cfm>, the deadline is October 14.
The SPIN UP application is here<https://sites.google.com/site/harvardcuwip/application/spin-up-application>, priority will be given to students who apply by October 14.
