Dear Head of the Physics Department,

In an effort to recruit students, we are sending you this mail with graduate and REU recruiting posters.  We request you to post the enclosed poster in some area your undergraduate students will notice and/or email to prospective students. Physics Department at UAF, offers strong programs in condensed matter/nano physics, computational physics, photonics, laser, quantum optics, nonlinear optics, astronomy, and biophysics.  The Department has made great strides in hiring highly qualifies new faculty.

All the students admitted in our department are supported as TA or RA. We still have openings for TA/RA position for fall 16 and even though deadline is passed we will accept applications till all the positions are filled.

Physics Department will also host NSF-funded REU program during the Summer 2016 (May 22-July 29), which may be of interest to your undergraduate students and opportunity to learned about graduate program.  Deadline for the REU applications is Feb 15, 2016.  Further information can be found at
