[phas-dept] Physics and Astronomy BBQ Today at 5pm!

[Matt Wood]

Hi, All: Just a reminder that we’ll have a Welcome / Welcome Back BBQ for our students, faculty, and staff on Today at 5pm. We’ll have the BBQ outside in front of the Science Building (outside the glass doors). We have 26 new undergraduate students this year! Please come meet the new students, and new students come meet everyone!

All New Undergraduate Students: Most of you are already enrolled in PHYS 101. I’d encourage you to take this class even if you’re a transfer student. It meets Tuesday at 4pm in room 135, and will provide an introduction to our department, faculty research, careers in physics, how to think like a physics person, success strategies, and more. If you are a new student and aren’t enrolled in PHYS 101, please still come to STC 135 at 4pm as we’ll be making introductions all around - please come meet your cohort and the faculty.

Everyone is invited to the BBQ - hope to see you there.

Matt
