[phas-dept] Learning assistant opportunity

[Robynne Lock]

Hi all,
We have learning assistant (LA) positions available in the Fall for PHYS 2425 and PHYS 2426. Being an LA is an excellent opportunity to not only deepen your physics knowledge but also to gain teaching experience! We need your help to make PHYS 2425 and PHYS 2426 into more active learning environments. You would need to be available for assisting students during class, a 1 hour prep session each week, and enrolling in PHYS 270: Science Education Theory and Practice. We will fit the prep session around your schedule. PHYS 270 meets for only 1 hour per week (Fridays at 9 am). The position pays $8.50 per hour, and you would work ~12-14 hours/week. We currently have positions available to work with either Dr. Montgomery or Dr. Newton. Both classes that we have openings in meet MWF 11-1.
Please contact me if you are interested or would like to learn more!
Dr. Lock
