[phas-dept] Reminder: Ben Jang Convocation today at 11

[Matt Wood]

Hi, All:

Just wanted to remind you that Dr. Jang’s Regents Professor Convocation is today - hope to see many of you there (Ferguson Auditorium at 11am)!

Faculty, Staff, and Students,

The Spring 2015 Academic Convocation is scheduled for Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. in the University Auditorium, Ferguson Social Sciences Building, to honor Dr. Ben Jang, Regents Professor and Professor of Chemistry. Dr. Jang became the University’s most recent recipient of the highest academic distinction bestowed upon faculty by The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents when named “Regents Professor” for academic year 2013-2014.

In order for students, faculty, and staff to attend the Convocation, all classes on the main campus will be canceled and campus offices will be closed from 11 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, April 15.

Faculty will participate in full academic regalia and gather for the processional at approximately 10:45 a.m. in the first floor hallway of the Ferguson Social Sciences Building. Those unable to attend are to consult the respective dean in advance.

Please mark on your calendars this special event to honor both Dr. Jang’s career and the history of our university by joining in this celebration.

Dr. Adolfo Benavides
Provost and Vice President
Academic Affairs

Cheers,
Matt
