Hi everyone, and especially our undergraduate and graduate students:

Once or twice a year the American Institute of Physics sends me their propaganda (I mean, statistics), and I thought two of the notices I received this time might be interesting for you.

One shows the enrollment in physics courses in US high schools over the past 15 years – the steady increase shows that there is a growing demand for physics teachers. Our physics and education programs here at A&M-Commerce are exceptionally well-positioned to prepare you for such a career!

The second chart shows the ultimate destinations of students graduating from physics master's programs. In other words, you can see where your peers graduating from grad programs like ours tend to go. Notice many highly successful students choose not to go on to a PhD but take jobs (usually well-paying ones!) in the workforce.

Finally, if you would like a list of companies that recently hired new physics bachelors broken down by state, go to: www.aip.org/statistics/whohires.
