Greetings everybody,

For those of you I haven't met, my name is Kurtis, and I am an associate professor of physics and astronomy at A&M-Commerce.

We have just started a new school year, and this year we are trying something new for our incoming physics majors. We would like them to get to talk to some of y'all, our alumni, during the semester. The goal of this initiative is for the students to meet alumni at all stages of life in a wide variety of careers and stages of life, and to hear what you found most valuable about your time here at Commerce.

So, I am reaching out and asking you to volunteer.

Would you please consider volunteering to talk with our new students for a half hour or so? Our group meets every Tuesday from 4-4:45pm Central Time. We can host you by Zoom, or if you are willing and able to come to campus, we would love to have you in person. (We can even pay for your gas if you'd like.)

Currently our schedule is open for every Tuesday from Sept 14 to Dec 7. If you would like to volunteer, please send me an email with your name, your current career/job status, and a choice of two or three dates. Likewise, if you have questions before you volunteer, please ask me.

My hope is to have such an overwhelming response from y'all that I am forced to pick and choose!

Thanks for your help with this new endeavor!

Cheers,
Kurtis
