students at Texas A&M University-Commerce</span></b>. The check-in
sessions will be from 9-11am and 2-4pm Wednesday, August 17 to Wednesday,
August 25 (closed Saturday and Sunday) in Halladay Student Services building
Room 104 (International Student Services office-ISSO). <b><u><span
style='color:red'>STUDENTS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST

international orientation on August 26 will still be required to attend
international orientation and then may check-in from 10am-12pm on Friday,

New Student Scholarship must complete check-in by 11am on Wednesday, August 25
and applications are due in person at the ISSO in Halladay 104 no later than

Applications will only be given to eligible new international students once
they have completed check-in. </span><span style='color:red'> <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class=MsoNormal>Below are the eligibility requirements for the scholarship:<o:p></o:p></p>
<ul style='margin-top:0in' type=disc>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l0 level1 lfo2'>Must be an F-1 visa
international student and have not applied for permanent residency or had
an H1-B visa petition filed on their behalf.<o:p></o:p></li>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l0 level1 lfo2'>Must complete their
check-in with an international advisor by 11:00am on Wednesday, August 25
and submit their application in person by 12:00pm Noon on Wednesday,
August 25 at the ISSO in Halladay 104<i>.</i> <o:p></o:p></li>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l0 level1 lfo2'>Must attend <b><u>all</u></b>
sessions at international orientation and be present to accept award or
award will be forfeited.<o:p></o:p></li>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l0 level1 lfo2'>Must be enrolled in at
least twelve (12) semester credit hours as an undergraduate student or
nine (9) semester credit hours as a graduate student. There are no
special requirements for students enrolling in the
summer. <o:p></o:p></li>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l0 level1 lfo2'>Must maintain a 3.0 GPA
for the award period<o:p></o:p></li>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l0 level1 lfo2'>Must remain in good
academic and disciplinary standing with the university for the award
period<o:p></o:p></li>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l0 level1 lfo2'>Must remain in good
financial standing with the university for the award period<o:p></o:p></li>

<p class=MsoNormal>Students concluding Optional Practical Training employment
and enrolling in a new degree program will be eligible for the scholarship.
Students matriculating to begin a new degree, continuing with a second degree
at the same education level immediately after completion of first degree, or
applying for a change of visa status <u>WILL NOT</u> be eligible. <o:p></o:p></p>
