It is finally August which means it is the time of year that you’ll be getting on the airplane in preparation for your studies this fall at TAMUC. We are very excited to meet all in person!

This email will give you instructions on what to expect in the month of August as a new incoming student.

1.      Register for Fall 2023 New International Student Orientation (NISO Fall 2023):
International orientation is required for all incoming students to participate in accordance to their onboarding and immigration status with TAMUC. Our office will have a packed day of information and socializing so you can learn more about our community and meet all the important offices associated with our university and broad Texas community!
   - Date: August 25, 2023
   - Time: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Gates will close by 8am)

2.      Complete Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination Requirement:
-          If you're 22 or younger.

3.      Complete Pre-Arrival Webinar Series:
-          Mandatory webinars for incoming international students.

4.      Get Lion Card: View Online Photo Submission Instructions on Our Website Here<https://www.tamuc.edu/division-of-finance-and-administration/auxiliary-services/eaccount-deployment/#tamuc-section-238627>

5.      Check your college email for more information. Mandatory
6.      Join Incoming Fall 2023 WhatsApp Group chat:

1.      Access myLeo Account

2.      Register for Classes:
   - Log in to Leo portal to register for classes.
   - Contact academic or graduate advisor for assistance.
   - Full Course of Studies for Summer, Fall & Spring Enrollment: As an incoming F-1 student, you must a maintain full course of studies starting your first academic semester and throughout your academic tenure at TAMUC. 3.      Check College Email for Tasks: ( ends with leomail.tamuc.edu )
   - Review your college email for tasks and instructions. Please read all your emails thoroughly.

5.      International Student Health Insurance: According to the Texas A&M University System regulation, international students (F-1 & J-1) are required to hold insurance that meets the Affordable Care Act (ACA) requirements as well as provides repatriation and medical evacuation. International Students are defined as students who are not United States citizens or permanent residents of the United States.

Deadlines for Submitting a Waiver :

Early Fall Arrival (new International Students) - 07/28/2023 - 08/22/2023

Fall - 08/02/2023 - 09/07/2023

By completing these steps, you'll be well-prepared for your Fall 2023 semester at TAMUC. Stay connected with your peers through the WhatsApp group and make the most of your orientation experience.

Disclaimer: U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) requires every international student to personally check in with the International Office. We are required to report your arrival at A&M-Commerce to the USCIS. If you fail to attend the orientation on August 25, we may be forced to terminate your Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) record and in accordance to 8 CFR 214.2(f)(5)(iv) of the regulations you will be required to depart the U.S. immediately. This will leave a permanent negative mark on your U.S. immigration history and may result in a denial of any pending immigration applications.
