Howdy International Lions,

The year is almost over which means it is the time of year that you’ll be in preparation for your studies for Spring at TAMUC. We are very excited to meet all of you in the near future. This email will give you instructions on what to expect in the months coming forward as a new incoming student.

MANDATORY : Register for Spring New International Student Orientation (NISO)

International orientation is required for all incoming students to participate in accordance with their onboarding and immigration status with TAMUC. Our office will have a packed day of information and socializing so you can learn more about our community and meet all the important offices associated with our university and broad Texas community!

New International Student Orientation (NISO)

* This is our first confirmation for all new incoming international students to confirm their attendance for International Student Orientation.

MANDATORY: International Student Reporting to TAMUC -OIP ( After your arrival to the U.S.)

All prospective non-immigrant students are required to report to TAMUC - Office of the International Programs in order to meet immigration compliance. Please upload/submit immigration documents after you have entered the U.S.

Upload the following documents:

  *   Current Passport
  *   Current Visa
  *   Current I-20

  *   I-94 which can be found at the Customs and Border Protection website at the I-94 Home Page<https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/home>;

As an incoming F-1 student, you must a maintain full course of studies starting your first academic semester and throughout your academic tenure at TAMUC. Please reference the attached document for more information and instruction on what encompasses full course of studies.

ATTN All College of Business Majors: Please review instructions linked above as there are updates to what is considered as full course of studies within your degree program.

International Student Health Insurance- Spring/Summer Insurance:

All international students will be enrolled in health insurance for spring/summer term and fall term. The coverage for spring will start on January 1, 2023, thru August 31, 2023. You may apply for a waiver, ALL WAIVERS must be submitted during this period December 9, 2022, to February 1st,  2023.

Attend our Pre-Arrival Webinars & Onboarding Events for all Incoming Spring 2023 Students

There are many questions you have as an incoming international student while many of you will be entering the United States for the first time. Our fall long and weekly webinar series will answer all the questions you have as an incoming student where we plan to address all the questions you have prior to stepping onto our campus. All Webinar events will be held in zoom from 10:00am to 11:00am Central Standard Time (CST). Above is a list of our events specifically for our international students. Disclaimer: U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) requires every international student to personally check in with the International Office. We are required to report your arrival at A&M-Commerce to the USCIS. If you fail to attend the orientation on January 11, 2023, we may be forced to terminate your Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) record and in accordance to 8 CFR 214.2(f)(5)(iv) of the regulations you will be required to depart the U.S. immediately. This will leave a permanent negative mark on your U.S. immigration history and may result in a denial of any pending immigration applications.
