Dear International Lions:
The Office of International Programs (OIP) at Texas A&M University-Commerce hopes that you are doing well and keeping safe.
On June 1, 2021, President Mark Rudin announced that A&M-Commerce will be returning to normal pre-COVID operations. We will offer face-to-face/online and Hybrid courses and resume all on-campus events and activities. This means that standard enrollment requirements<http://www.tamuc.edu/campusLife/campusServices/internationalStudentServices/documents/FullCourseofStudy.pdf> will be in effect for all F1 international students. The start date for fall classes is August 30th, 2021 and we are looking forward to meeting each one of you!
As you are planning to return to travel to the U.S. to attend classes for fall 2021 OIP would like to provide you important information for travel requirements & COVID-19 Testing/Vaccines.
Travel Requirement: All air passengers coming to the U.S., including U.S. citizens and fully vaccinated people, are required<https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/testing-international-air-travelers.html> to have a negative COVID-19 test result no more than 3 days before travel or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 in the past 3 months before they board a flight to the United States.
Vaccinated:
* Students fully vaccinated will not be asked to quarantine, unless they are having symptoms. Contact EOC at tamuc.edu<mailto:EOC at tamuc.edu> for further information on quarantine.
* It is recommended that if an international traveler that has been vaccinated by the AstraZeneca or Sinopharm get vaccination again by one of the state vaccines (i.e. Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson).
Un-Vaccinated: If you are not fully vaccinated please take the following steps to protect yourself and others from COVID-19
* Students will need to get tested with a viral test 3-5 days after travel AND stay home and self-quarantine for a full 7 days after travel
* Even if you test negative, stay home and self-quarantine for the full 7 days
* If you don't get tested, stay home and self-quarantine for 10 days after travel
* If your test is positive, isolate yourself to protect others from getting infected. Contact EOC at tamuc.edu<mailto:EOC at tamuc.edu> for further information on quarantine. Your information will only be used to ensure compliance with A&M System protocols and policies for mitigating the risk of COVID-19.
COVID-19 Testing/Vaccines:
* Make an appointment to test for COVID-19 testing. Find instructions on booking an appointment for free COVID-19 testing and consent form which is attached to this email.
* The Student Health Center<http://www.tamuc.edu/campuslife/campusServices/studentHealthServices/appointment.aspx> (SCH) currently has the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccines available for TAMUC students FOR FREE.
