The A&M System requires all international students (anyone holding a non-immigrant visa) to be enrolled in the System Student Health Insurance Plan. There are very few exceptions to the insurance requirements. The SSHIP insurance charge if a separate charge that will show up on a new student's student account by the beginning of the second week of classes. The ISSS will provide a health insurance session at the International Student Orientation to address any questions. For more information please review the New International Student Guidebook at www.tamuc.edu/guidebook<http://www.tamuc.edu/guidebook>.
Texas state law requires all new students 21 years of age or younger who are admitted to a Texas university or college to either receive a Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination or meet the exemption requirements prior to the first day of class. Students who are 22 years of age or older DO NOT require the vaccination.
