The Office of International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) at Texas A&M University-Commerce would like to congratulate you on your admission for the summer semester. Over the next few months you will be receiving emails and other information from the ISSS as you prepare for your studies at A&M-Commerce. This email has been created to specifically assist with all of our new student questions and concerns. Below are some important reminders as you prepare for your studies here. If you should have any questions you may email New.Intl at tamuc.edu<mailto:New.Intl at tamuc.edu>. FOR THE QUICKEST REPLY PLEASE SEND ALL INQUIRIES TO NEW.INTL at TAMUC.EDU<mailto:NEW.INTL at TAMUC.EDU>.

* The ISSS has created a New International Student Guidebook that is attached and may be found at http://bit.ly/1NJW0fY that will provide the answers to many of your questions such as the I-20 and visa process, check-in and orientation, airport pickup, housing, academic advising, cell phones, enrollment requirements, health insurance requirements, and many other topics. Be sure to review the guidebook as you prepare for your studies here.

* BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR UNIVERISTY LEOMAIL ACCOUNT OFTEN. MOST CORRESPONDENCE FROM THE UNIVERSITY IS SENT TO YOUR UNIVERSITY LEOMAIL ACCOUNT.

* All new F-1 and J-1 international students must check-in with an International Student Advisor in person before course registration. Check-in appointments begin May 18th and students may schedule their appointment or learn more about check-in at www.tamuc.edu/intlorientation<http://www.tamuc.edu/intlorientation>.

* All new F-1 and J-1 international students will need to report to the ISSS no later than Friday, June 5, 2015. The ISSO will not grant permission for students to arrive after this date due to a number of risks.

* There will be no International Student Orientation for summer students but all new summer F-1 and J-1 international students will need to attend the fall International Student Orientation on Wednesday, August 26. The ISSS will work hard to assist all new international students for the summer.

* An academic advising form was sent with your I-20 to provide assistance as you prepare for your first semester courses. Be sure to review this document or you may also review the academic advising information on page 13 and 14 on the guidebook that is attached or may be found at http://bit.ly/1NJW0fY.
