[NewIntlStudents] When to arrive in Commerce, TX? When can you register for courses?

[New International Students]

New international students admitted to Texas A&M University-Commerce for the spring 2015 semester will need to arrive in Commerce, TX prior to their I-20 start date of January 14, 2015.


1.       Check-in Required Before Students Can Register:  All new international students are required to check-in with an International Student Advisor in person in the International Student Services Office in Halladay 104 before they can register for classes.  There are no exceptions to this requirement.  The ISSO registration hold will be lifted after a student has completed check-in.   The ISSO registration hold will not be lifted until a student has completed check-in in person with an advisor in the ISSO. 2.       International Student Orientation:  All new international students are also required to attend the International Student Orientation on Wednesday, January 14, 2015.  The orientation check-in will begin at 8am and the orientation should end by 4pm.  There will be a number of informative sessions offered throughout the day and we will post the schedule online in early December.  Attendance is mandatory for all new international students.


3.       Students Who Arrive Late:  Students who arrive in Commerce, TX on or after Wednesday, January 14, 2015 will be delayed in registering for courses.  It is very important that students arrange their travel plans to ensure they arrive in Commerce prior to Wednesday, January 14, 2015 so they may check-in and attend International Student Orientation.  The ISSO WILL NOT host a check-in on the day of orientation and there will be limited designated check-in times for students who are unable to check-in prior to January 14, 2015.
