[NewIntlStudents] When is international student orientation and do I have to attend?

[New International Students]

All new international students (including new transfer students) are
required to attend the international student orientation on Thursday,
January 12 beginning at 8:30am in the Sam Rayburn Student Center Room
213ABC

map.pdf> .  Failure to attend the orientation or arriving late the day
of orientation will delay your ability to register for courses.
Students are strongly encouraged to arrive at the student center for
orientation no later than 8:15am to sign in and receive their
orientation packet.  

 

Students will need to be prepared to be in Commerce from 8:30am to
5:00pm the day of orientation, January 12, to attend the orientation,
meet with their academic department, and prepare for their courses.  

 

Undergraduate students (only) will also need to attend the Undergraduate
student orientation in addition to the international student

Please remember the following:

*        Failure to attend orientation or arriving late for orientation
will delay your ability to register for classes.  No exceptions!

*        The ISSO will not grant permission for students to arrive late.

*        It is strongly recommended that students arrive at the student
center no later than 8:15 to sign in and receive the orientation packet.

*        The ISSO is unable to provide an orientation in the Dallas/Fort
Worth (DFW).  All new international students must attend the orientation
on the main campus in Commerce, TX on Thursday, January 12.  

*        Students coming from the DFW area will need to be sure to leave
early on Thursday morning to ensure they arrive in Commerce on time.
Downtown Dallas, TX is an estimated 2 hour drive from Commerce and there
is construction on the main highway which may cause delays.  For a list
