[NewIntlStudents] When should I arrive in Commerce, TX?

[New International Students]

New international students for the fall 2011 semester need to plan on
arriving in Commerce no later than Wednesday, August 25 so they may
attend the mandatory international student orientation on Thursday,
August 26. Please keep in mind that ALL new international students are
required to check-in with an international advisor during the specific
times provided in a previous email and with the check-list on your I-20
and also attend the mandatory international student orientation.
Failure to do so will delay your ability to register for classes.

Students who arrive after August 25 or arrive after late for the
international student orientation on August 26 will not be eligible to
register for classes until a later date and time.

If you plan to live in on-campus housing the residence halls will open
on Wednesday, August 25. Students planning to live on-campus who arrive
earlier than this date MUST contact Judy_Edelhauser at tamu-commerce.edu
<mailto:Judy_Edelhauser at tamu-commerce.edu> to make arrangements to
move-in earlier than August 25.

We strongly discourage students from arriving earlier than the week of
August 22. The university does not provide temporary housing for
students prior the start of the semester and many of the international
student groups (India Student Association, Chinese Student Association)
are not able to accommodate students as they were in previous semesters.
