All new international students at Texas A&M University-Commerce are
required to attend international student orientation and check-in with
an international advisor before being eligible to register for courses.
International student orientation is on Thursday, January 13, 2011 and
will begin at 8:30am sharp and students should expect to be involved in
orientation and other activities on-campus until 5:00pm. All
international students are required to attend the orientation. PLEASE DO
NOT ARRIVE LATE THE DAY OF INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ORIENTATION. Students
who arrive late to orientation or miss the mandatory international
student orientation will be delayed in their ability to register for
courses.
Undergraduate international students only must also attend a
undergraduate orientation and may visit
http://www.tamu-commerce.edu/home/orientation/ for more information.
The ISSO will have check-in sessions for new students from Wednesday,
January 5 to Tuesday, January 11 (closed Saturday and Sunday) from
9-11am and 2-4pm and Wednesday, January 12 from 9am-12pm (noon) in
Halladay 104. We strongly discourage students from waiting to check-in
on January 12th as we will only check-in during the posted times
regardless of any waiting students. There will be no check-in on the
day of international student orientation. Students who do not check-in
prior to orientation will have to attend check-in from 10am-12pm (ONLY
during this time) on Friday, January 14.
Students are REQUIRED to provide the following documents and information
at check-in:
* Copies of passport, visa, and I-94 (both sides of I-94)
* Copy(s) of first and last page of I-20. Transfer students
must provide copies of ALL previous I-20's. Please contact your
previous school(s) to request a copy.
* Current physical address and contact information in the U.S.
This includes any temporary address (friend, family, hotel).
* Current physical address in your home country.
* Emergency contact information of friend or family member in
the U.S.
