Just a few important reminders from the International Student Services
office (ISSO) at Texas A&M University-Commerce.

All international students are required to attend the international
student orientation on Thursday, August 26 beginning at 8:30am. It is
strongly recommended that students arrive at 8:15am so they may pick up
their registration packet and documents. Students may register for the
international student orientation at
http://www.tamu-commerce.edu/international/forms.asp. Undergraduate
international students (ONLY UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS) are also required
to attend the undergraduate orientation and you may visit
http://www.tamu-commerce.edu/home/orientation/ for more information.

DO NOT ARRIVE LATE FOR ORIENTATION! Students that arrive after 8:30 may
be seriously delayed in their ability to register for classes. Students
coming from the Dallas/Fort Worth area need to leave very early to allow
plenty of time to arrive in Commerce. Students should be prepared to
spend the entire day attending orientation activities, activities
on-campus, and visiting with their academic departments.

All international students are required to check-in with an
international advisor. Check-in will be from Wednesday, August 18 to
Wednesday, August 25 (we are closed Saturday and Sunday) from 9-11am and
2-4pm in the ISSO in Halladay 104. There will be no check-in on the day
of orientation. If you are unable to attend a check-in session prior to
the day of orientation then you will have to check-in on Friday, August
27 from 10am-12pm (noon) in Halladay 104. Students may attend any
check-in with an international advisor any time during the posted days
and times. Students will be required to provide the following
documents:

* Copy of I-20 (first and last page) with port of entry stamp
visible. Transfer students must provide copies of ALL previous I-20's.
You may contact your previous school(s) and they will have a copy on
record.

* Copies of passport, visa, and I-94 (both sides). Be sure the
port of entry stamp is visible on all copies.

* Permanent address in home country

* Current address in U.S. May be temporary or permanent address
but students MUST submit their current address in U.S. Example- friends
address, family address...

* Emergency contact information of friend or family in U.S. and
in home country. Phone number, email address, current physical
address...
