[MusicEvents] Trombone Recital

On Tuesday night, October 8, there will be a trombone recital in the Finney Concert Hall.  Jimmy Clark, Chris Oliver, Jacob Muzquiz and John Wasson will present an evening of trombone music. They will perform the music of Alessandro Besozzi, Ferdinand David, Paul Hindemith, Stjepan Sulek, Alexander Lebedev, Launy Ghrondahl, Arthur Pryor and Arthur Frackenpohl.  They will perform on alto, tenor and  bass trombone.

Mr. Clark is the trombone professor at TAMUC and recently retired from the Dallas Opera after playing 20 years as principal trombone of the orchestra.  He is principal trombone of the Dallas Winds with whom he has recorded 20 CD’s.

Chris Oliver is the second trombone of the Dallas Symphony and the adjunct trombone teacher at TAMUC.

Jacob Muzquiz is a recent graduate of TAMUC and is very active with a performing and teaching career in Dallas. He performs often with the Dallas Symphony.

John Wasson is director of jazz bands at TAMUC.  Mr. Wasson is well known in the music business for his composing, arranging, and as a bass trombone player.  He is a former member of the Stan Kenton Band and the Woody Herman Band and the Richardson Symphony among many others.

The concert is free and starts at 7:30.
