[MusicEvents] FW: Percussion Ensemble I Concert-Monday, Nov. 25th at 7:30

Please join us for the Percussion Ensemble I Fall 2013 Concert on
Monday, November 25th. The pre-concert entertainment will begin around
7:20, with the concert starting at 7:30 pm in the Music Building Concert
Hall. As always, the group will play a wide variety of pieces including
"The Electric City" featuring a trio of players on small drum set-ups,
"Topography of Dreaming", an ethereal vibraphone and marimba trio, plus
a keyboard quartet called "Quick Blood" that has the group engaging in
fast melodic trade-offs throughout the work. 
 
Two large ensemble works will also be performed, including the final
piece, "Cyclone", that features a group of four marimba players running
around two marimbas at a frantic pace, and the epic percussion orchestra
work, "The Palace of Nine Perfections", that incorporates beautiful
melodies and harmonies transforming the audience to a remote location.  
 
The Panimation Steel Drum Band will give a concert prelude in the lobby
and refreshments will be provided by the Percussion Association after
the concert.
