TAMU-C Trombone Choir to perform at Texas A&M University-Commerce and
Eastern Trombone Workshop

The Texas A&M University-Commerce Trombone Choir will present a concert
on Tuesday night, March 19th at 7:30PM in the Jack Finney Concert Hall
in the music building on the campus of TAMU-C. The choir will present a
program of diverse music and will include numerous solos by students.
Alex Castro, Bret Ryan, Dorian Scott, Barry Tagg and Jacob Muzquiz will
be featured in a new work commissioned by alumni Randy Morrison of
Greenville. Mr. Morrison commissioned Chuck Mandernach, noted trombonist
and writer of Dallas, Texas to write a piece in memory of the founder of
the TAMU-C trombone choir, Dr. Neil Humfeld. The piece was written in
honor of Jimmy Clark and the TAMU-C trombone choir.

On Thursday, following the concert on Tuesday night, the trombone choir
will fly to Washington, DC, where they will perform at the Eastern
Trombone Workshop. The Eastern Trombone Workshop has become one of the
largest annual events for trombone in the world. The workshop's mission
is to give students, performers, and educators an opportunity to meet
and share ideas, talents, and opinions about the world of trombone. ETW
regularly hosts participants throughout the nation and abroad. The
workshop is held at Brucker Hall-The U.S. Army Band's performance
center-located on historic Fort Myer, Virginia, just across the Potomac
River from the nation's capital.

The concert on Tuesday night is free and open to the public! The
director of the trombone choir is Jimmy Clark. Guest conductor will be
Chuck Mandernach.
