SUBJECT: Saint Louis Brass in Concert - Jan. 29

SAINT LOUIS BRASS QUINTET COMBINES HUMOR WITH GOOD MUSIC

For an evening of fun with brass, we invite you to see, hear, and enjoy
the Saint Louis Brass in the Finney Concert Hall Tuesday, January 29, at
7:30pm. Tickets are $10.00 for adults / $7.00 for students and can be
purchased at the door starting at 5:00pm, or in advance by calling
903-886-5304.

Although the members of the Saint Louis Brass look formal when they
perform, audiences are pleasantly surprised at the relaxed and informal
atmosphere they create. With extraordinary grace, the ensemble
transforms the stuffiness associated with classical chamber music,
combining professionalism and showmanship to produce a thoroughly
enjoyable musical experience.

The Saint Louis Brass will perform a great variety of selections
featuring music from their recent CD "Pops: Music of the Americas" and
several other CDs plus their new DVD. "Daylight at Midnight," an
exciting new work from Dana Wilson by commission from the quintet, will
be premiered on this tour. Also new for this tour is Anthony Plog's
"Aesop's Fables," a musical setting of these much-beloved stories. On
the lighter side is a new jazz medley - "Tribute to Pops: Hits of Louis
Armstrong" - plus everybody's favorite "St Louis Blues." New to the
quintet are the tangos "Adios Nonino" and "Libertango" by the noted
Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla.
