A&M-Commerce Jazz Ensembles in Concert with David Kelley

A&M-Commerce's 'Mane' Attraction Jazz Ensemble and Blue Cat Big Band will present their final concert of the semester on Monday, April 25 at 7:30 pm in the Jack and Lou Finney Concert Hall, Music Building. Our special guest is trombonist David Kelly.

David Kelley is a seasoned musician, specializing in all styles of music performance on trombone and euphonium, with an additional emphasis on percussion. Based in Allen, TX, David is a member of several of the top-performing ensembles in North Texas, including the legendary Dallas Jazz Orchestra. He is the Music Director for – and plays with – the Dallas Christian Jazz Band. Additionally, David is a top-call player for numerous big bands, civic groups, party bands, churches and recording projects. David has toured nationally and internationally, and he has performed with various touring acts, including Don Most, Anson Williams, and The Temptations.

David is an alumnus of East Texas State University, class of 1988. He graduated with a degree in computer science, while also minoring in music during his time in Commerce. He studied privately with Michael Morrow and the late Dr. Neill Humfeld. David works for Hewlett Packard Enterprise, where he is a senior applications consultant. He is married to Donna (Cook) Kelley. Donna is also a graduate of ETSU, and she teaches private percussion in the Allen, Plano and Lovejoy school districts. David and Donna have three children -- Micah, Quentin and Bret.

Join the bands in welcoming David back to Commerce! We're looking forward to a great evening of big band favorites! Admission is free.
