[MusicAlumni] MUSIC AT THE MEYERSON

Great things are happening in YOUR Department of Music at Texas A&M
University-Commerce!  The faculty and students are excited to invite you
to join us for MUSIC AT THE MEYERSON, a gala concert featuring the
Concert Chorale, Keyboard Division, Brass Ensemble, and the Wind
Ensemble.  The concert will be Tuesday, March 25th, 7:30 pm at the
Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center in downtown Dallas.
 
Director of Bands Phillip Clements, Director of Vocal Activities Randall
Hooper, Keyboard Division Head Luis Sanchez, Associate Director of Bands
Allan Goodwin, and guest Trumpet soloist Daniel Kelly will lead over 160
students from A&M-Commerce and 60 additional students from Kilgore
College, Richland College and Tarrant County College-Northeast Campus in
a wonderful evening of music spanning six centuries.
 
The highlight of the evening will be the world premiere of James Syler's
"The Temptation of St. Anthony," a significant new works for chorus and
wind ensemble based on the writings of Antony of Egypt, 3rd Century
hermit, saint and founder of monasticism in the early church.  Mr. Syler
also collaborated with the A&M-Commerce Department of Music for their
Carnegie Hall performance in 2012.
 
Tickets for the evening are $20 for Reserved Box seating and $10 for
General Admission.  Tickets are available online at
