[MusicAlumni] FEBRUARY 16: Luis Sanchez ~ Fortepiano Recital

[Nancy Melton]

Dear friends and colleagues,

On Thursday February 16 at 7: 30 pm I will be presenting an all-Mozart
fortepiano recital at Finney Concert Hall. For this performance, I will
be bringing my personal replica of Mozart's Walter fortepiano (1782)
built by esteemed American instrument builder Philip Belt in 1987. To
my knowledge, this is the only copy of Mozart's instrument in the state
of Texas and one of four replicas of XVIII century fortepianos in the
Metroplex.

Please encourage your students in your classes and studios to attend
this concert. With the exception of performances at UNT or occasional
performances by the Dallas Bach Society, fortepiano recitals are
extremely rare in our area. This would be a unique opportunity for
students to experience works of Mozart performed on an instrument like
the one he played and heard.

Please feel free to forward this information to students, friends, and
colleagues!

Thank you. Luis
