Dear Students,
Congratulations on beginning your first MSW Field Education course in Spring 2027! This orientation is ONLY if you are registered or plan to enroll in SWK 553 Foundation or SWK 554 Advanced Generalist Practice courses in Spring 2027. If you are not registered or will be enrolling in these courses in Spring 2027, no worries, your time for field education is coming soon.
To help those of you who will be enrolled in Field Education – Spring 2027, this orientation will prepare you in your exciting next steps in your professional journey.

What to Expect:

  *   Introduction to MSW Field Education
  *   Roles of students, field instructors, and liaisons
  *   Review of timesheets and documentation procedures
  *   Overview of CSWE 2022 EPAS competencies and how they guide your learning
  *   Professional expectations, Title IX policies, and safety considerations
  *   Q&A session to address your questions and concerns
Who Should Attend:
All students beginning their first field education class in Spring 2027 (Foundation or Advanced Generalist Practice placement).
Preparation:

  *   Have your placement details available if confirmed.
  *   Review the attached MSW Field Education Manual and be ready to discuss expectations.
We are excited to support you as you enter this essential stage of your MSW education. The Zoom will be recorded, however, I strongly suggest you attend to get first-hand knowledge of the process. Not attending may delay your process, especially if you have questions.
