[MSW] Internship Opportunity

We're always looking for volunteers and wanted to see if your East Texas A&M social work students/interns might be interested in volunteering at the center. This would be a wonderful opportunity for them to interact with our clients and gain insight on the social causes and consequences of homelessness while working to fulfill their internship requirements.

The center opens on nights when the temperature will be 32 degrees or colder for four consecutive hours and has four operating shifts:

  *   5:00 pm to 8:00 pm
  *   8:00 pm to 12:00 am
  *   12:00 am to 6:00 am
  *   6:00 am to 8:00 am
We provide orientation training to familiarize volunteers with rules and procedures, volunteer expectations, and basic deescalation techniques. And we have well established safety guidelines in place to ensure a safe operating environment for both our clients and volunteers.

If you have interns who are interested in volunteering, we'd be more than happy to provide a special orientation session for them.
