Communities In Schools of North Texas (CISNT) is excited to announce the expansion of our AmeriCorps Program for Summer 2025! Through the AmeriCorps program, CISNT offers community members a chance to provide meaningful service to support our mission to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.
Opportunity:
AmeriCorps Members serve alongside and receive mentorship from a CISNT Site Coordinator at a CISNT partner school site in North Texas. Members provide critical support services to students in Elementary through High Schools who are at-risk of dropping out of school and work to increase students' school engagement in case management or after-school programs. Members will provide 100-450 hours of service on school campuses and can choose to serve for just one semester (fall or spring), or throughout the school year.
Benefits:

  *   Educational Award of approximately $300-$1,800, upon completion of service, which can be used for educational expenses at eligible post-secondary institutions, including many technical schools and G.I. Bill approved programs, or to repay qualified students loans
  *   Eligibility for many scholarship opportunities after completing an AmeriCorps National Service Term.
  *   Professional development in the social service / non-profit sector for individuals wanting to build their resumes or change careers.
Eligibility:

  *   Be 17 years or older
  *   Pass a federal criminal background check
  *   Be a US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident
  *   NO high school or college degree is required!
