Good afternoon,

It is that time again. We will be taking applications for the VA Gulf Coast Healthcare System Social Work Internship program. We have 10 paid internships and up to 5 additional unpaid internships. This is a very prestigious opportunity.

We will begin accepting applications Monday February 17, 2020 to Friday March 6, 2020.  We will begin performance based interviews the week of March 16th with selections and notifications going out by March 24th.

Persons to be considered for selection:
MSW in their last field placement prior to graduation
Any MSW student who will need a final field placement anytime from August 2020 to August 2021.

In the past we have considered on a case by case basis taking additional interns on an ad hoc basis, but the demand for placements has increased to the point that we will no longer consider out of rotation placements.

Please send all the applications for consideration through you as the field placement coordinators for the school, not directly from the students. Once a student is selected they will be notified along with the school and more direct communications with the student will begin at that time.

Qualifications for consideration;
Current transcript (can be unofficial)
Professional resume with email and telephone contacts
2 letters of recommendation
Completion of VA Form 10-2850d attached.
