PLEASE READ ENTIRE EMAIL AND KEEP FOR FUTURE REFERENCE
Registration for graduate students begins Monday, October 20, 2014; therefore, I will be sending the registration request email to the MSW listserve on Friday, October 17, 2014, at 5:00pm. This email will include instructions for submitting your registration requests as well as the Registration Request Forms listed below. Please note the following changes:
1. Foundation students (those who do not have a BSW degree from a CSWE accredited program) will still be required to submit a registration request for all Foundation classes. You will use Registration Request Form A for Spring 2015 courses.
2. Concentration students (those who have a BSW degree from a CSWE accredited program) can register for SWK 505, SWK 506 and SWK 510 without registration permits. Those classes no longer require permits to register. Do not add those classes to the registration form or alter the registration form in any way. Please also see #3 and/or #4 for the classes which still require registration permits.
3. Returning part-time Concentration students who will be starting the field practicum (SWK 554) Spring 2015 ARE NOT eligible to register for the online field seminar. Your first semester in concentration field must be in the classroom. You will use Registration Request Form D for Spring 2015 classes. Please note that if you successfully complete SWK 554 Spring 2015, you will be eligible to take SWK 554 (field practicum) online Summer 2015.
4. Returning Concentration students who have already completed, or are in the process of completing, their first semester of concentration field practicum will use Registration Request Form B for Spring 2015.
Please review your degree plan carefully to make sure you are only submitting your request(s) for classes in which you are eligible to attend in order to avoid registration delays. Please be aware that any student registered for a class in which they are not eligible to attend will be administratively dropped from the class, i.e., Foundation students registering for SWK 505 or 506, etc. Additionally, if a registration request is submitted requesting permission to register for a class in which you are not eligible to attend, your request will be returned for correction.
As always, please don't worry if you are placed on a waiting list for a specific class. We've never turned a student away yet because of a full class. Just be aware that waiting lists aren't usually cleared until a week or two before the start of the new semester.
If you have any questions regarding any of this information, please email me.
Thank you for your help in making this a smooth registration.
Pam
