There seems to be some confusion regarding Fall 2014 registration and
the registration email sent out yesterday morning. I'm hoping this
follow-up email will help clear up these issues.
The registration email was not designed for any one specific group of
students. It was emailed to every MSW student in our program which
means that some students on different degree plans will be registering
for a different sequence of classes. For example: a fulltime Advanced
Standing student who started the program Spring 2014 took SWK 590 Spring
2014, will register for SWK 595 Summer 2014, and take the remainder of
their classes (508, 509, 510, and 554) Fall 2014.
The confusion stems from the fact that SWK 590 is offered Fall 2014. It
is offered because students with a different start date need SWK 590
Fall 2014, but SWK 590 should not be confused with SWK 509. These are
two separate classes.
Fulltime students who began the program Spring 2014 will only need a
Fall 2014 registration permit for SWK 554 (field) because SWK 508, 509,
and 510 don't require registration permits.
Please be sure to review your degree plan before submitting your
registration requests. If you have any questions, please contact me.
Don't ask other students because they might not be on the same degree
plan as you and therefore, might be taking other courses.
Thank you.
