[Msw] Student Day at the Legislature

[Pamela Hammond]

Student Day at the Legislature March 4th, 2014

We will be traveling to Austin on March 4th for student day at the
legislature. This is an educationally, fun experience that allows social
work students to see first-hand the political process.

Join us for a day to learn about advocacy, the process of broad change
and to represent our profession's future as well as our social work
college and university programs state-wide.

There are organized activities; students can take the opportunity to
schedule a meeting with an elected official for that day; along with
opportunities for "on your own" activities including: exploring the
Capitol building, attending Student speak outs on the Capitol steps.

We will be chartering a bus for the trip with an anticipated departure
time from Commerce campus will be around 3:00 a.m. and a return time
around 6:00 p.m.

Exact details and schedule to follow

The cost for attending is $10.00

If you are interested in attending this exciting day please print and
complete the attached form and return it, along with your payment of
$10.00 by February 3rd (make checks payable to the A-Team) to:
