We have a client that recieves respite and community support services
through a Medicaid Waiver program.
The position available is for respite attendant, temporary relief of
caregiving for the primary caregivers of a 19-year-old client with Mild
IDD. She is high functioning and needs supervision when she receives
respite care.
The position is also for providing community support which entails
skills training. Such as learning how to stay safe and light meal
preparation.
The client does not have any maladaptive behaviors. She follows
instructions, enjoys watching the Disney Channel, likes country music,
favorite artist is Carry Underwood, enjoys going out to eat and would
like a little help with homework during the time she receives the
services.
At this time, this client needs 3 hours of Community Support and 2 hours
of Respite each Saturday. The client's family is flexible about the time
on Saturdays. The services will be done back-to-back for a total of 5
hours per Saturday.
The pay is $12/hour for respite on a W-4 (taxes deducted from pay check)
and $17.50/hour for community support on a W-9 (taxes must be paid by
the individual at the end of the year).
The family would like a female respite/community support attendant. If
there is anyone you all may know of that is interested in applying for
the position, I would be the point of contact because I am the client's
case manager and have an application packet for any perspective
candidates.
The requirement is for the attendant to be 18-years-old or older, with
reliable transportation, auto insurance and a clear criminal record.
Thank you,
