Dallas County Probate Court Investigator Office -Court Visitor Program
Coordinator

This position reviews forensic reports prepared by community volunteers,
volunteer attorneys, and graduate social work student interns before
filing in the permanent court record. This position is the first to
handle crisis calls from volunteers in the field, guardians or wards.
The ability to think critically and knowledge of community services is a
must for managing the workload of this position. Experience in
investigations, abuse, neglect, financial exploitation as well as
excellent communication skills is helpful. 

The majority population is ID/D, geriatric, and traumatic brain injury
(TBI) living in a wide variety of personal residential and/or licensed
facility settings. 

*	Heavy emphasis on writing, editing, and reading skills in a
forensic setting
*	Public speaking, organizational and time management skills
*	Requires home visits in a variety of settings, including some
medically fragile or unsanitary conditions
*	Experience working with people of diverse ages, races, religious
preferences, alternative lifestyles and legal status
*	Experience and ability to work with various medical, mental and
physical incapacities as well as economic and multi-cultural populations
*	Ability to work under time constraints, emergency situations,
frequent changes of tasks, irregular work schedule, preforming multiple
tasks simultaneously and attention to detail

Requires:

*	LMSW or within 12 months of hire date
*	Texas Driver's License with good driving record & valid
insurance

Preferred:

*	Bilingual (Spanish)
*	5 years experience in client social services
