for this session on September 23rd today!

Workshop Abstract

Social workers and other social services workers are increasingly being
called upon
toconduct spiritual assessments in their work with their clients. Few
training workshops
are available, however, that address what spiritual assessments are,
what should
be included in spiritual assessments, and how to conduct such
assessments.
The purpose of this session is to familiarize workshop attendees with 5
different
spiritual assessment tools. By developing an assessment "toolbox"
containing a variety
of spiritual assessment tools, practitioners are better equipped to
provide services
that address the individual needs of each of their clients. Lastly, this
presentation
will evaluate the strengths and limitations of each of these instruments
when applied
in a variety of practice settings.

Workshop Presenter

The presenters for this workshop will be Rick Chamiec-Case, Ph.D., MSW,
executive
director of the North American Association of Christians in Social Work,
and a panel
of clinicians from the Dallas area, including Rita Smith, clinical
therapist with
Planned Living Assistance of North Texas, who will provide a response to
Dr. Chamiec-Case's
presentation.
