[Msw] Department changes!!

It's my pleasure to announce that Patsy Boshears has agreed to step in
as the BSW Director beginning in the Fall semester, filling the vacancy
left by Dr. Hugh Clark.  Patsy has been on our faculty since 2002 and
has taught extensively in our BSW program. She is familiar with our
curriculum and our students, and yet she brings a fresh perspective to
continue to enhance the quality of the program. I look forward to having
Patsy assume this important role in our department.  

 

Dr. Clark was scheduled to teach two sections of BSW Social Welfare
Policy in the fall semester.  I have taught those classes in the past
(and loved teaching them!) so I will be teaching these in the fall. I
look forward to getting to know the incoming Juniors - I've heard such
good things about you, I can hardly wait! And, I'll do my best to make
the Policy class enjoyable :-)!!

 

If you have advising questions between now and the beginning of the fall
semester, please don't hesitate to contact Amy_toole at tamu-commerce (BSW
secretary) or myself. Patsy will then become the primary BSW advisor
when the fall semester begins.

 

I would also like to introduce our new faculty member who will be
teaching in both the BSW and MSW programs - Dr. Chris Stewart, from
University of South Florida.  He has 10+ years of social work education
as well as several years of practice experience, primarily in the area
of addictions.  I know you will look forward to giving Dr. Stewart a
Texas A&M-Commerce welcome! 

 

I'm looking forward to a really exciting fall semester and hope you are
