[MS Finance] Resume Workshop (1/27) & Career Fair (2/12) Invitations

Good morning all,

The Accounting and Finance Department in cooperation with Beta Alpha Psi invites you to the following events:


1.    Resume Workshop: The workshop will be held Monday, January 27th from 12:00 to 2:00 pm in BA 246 Finke Finance Lab and via zoom. You are highly encouraged to attend the workshop to ready your resume for the career fair.

The purpose of the resume workshop is to leverage ChatGPT to improve your resume to increase your chances of getting an interview. Traisha West, VP Citibank, will be sharing how to prompt ChatGPT to improve your resume to maximize your opportunity to get an interview and a job.

BEFORE attending the resume workshop:


A.    Create or update your resume using the attached resume format. Do NOT deviate from the attached format.

B.    Create a ChatGPT account, if you do not have one already.

C.    Identify a job posting that you would like to tailor your resume to. Please have both a hard copy (print) and have electronic copies (link/screenshot) of the job posting and your resume for the workshop.

D.    The workshop will be in BA 246, the Finke Finance Lab.

F.     The workshop will be recorded for those unable to attend.

DAY OF the resume workshop:

A.    Have an electronic copy of your resume and your selected job posting open on your computer.

B.    Open ChatGPT.

C.    Please turn your camera on if you are attending via Zoom.




2.    The Accounting and Finance Career Fair is scheduled for Wednesday, February 12th at the Rayburn Student Center.

BEFORE attending the career fair:

A.    Identify the companies you are interested in and do a little research about them. See attached list.

B.    Print at least 10 copies of your resume and put them into a folder.  You can give one to each employer attending the career fair.

C.    Ready your professional dress.  The Lion Wardrobe offers professional clothing for students.  It is located in the Performing Arts Center (Room 123) and is open every Wednesday from 11am to 4pm or by appointment (903-886-5736).

DAY OF the career fair:

A.    Put your game face on.

B.    Be ready to share why you love accounting or finance.

C.    Don't go to your first choice company. Practice with other companies first.

D.    Get the interview.
