Hello finance graduate students,

Did you know that as a finance major you can now take a minor in real estate ?

If you take the following three courses as electives, you will get a specialized minor in real estate.
1. FIN 575 - Principles of Real Estate - offered Spring 2021
2. FIN 576 - Real Estate Appraisal and Investments - offered Spring 2021 - could be offered in Fall 2020 depending on demand.
3. FIN 577- Real Estate Finance - offered Fall 2020

Finance majors with a real estate minor are preferred by many banks and financial institutions due to the complementing skills. This focused concentration in real estate will improve your career opportunities in areas of banking, mortgage lending, real estate development, asset management, appraisal, real estate management and brokerage.

The real estate minor is designed to provide students with an opportunity to obtain comprehensive exposure to the field of real estate making them more competitive in the job market. This minor provides an opportunity for students to gain thorough exposure to the topics of real estate investing, finance and valuation. Those completing this minor will master techniques in valuing income-producing properties, analyze financial instruments such as mortgages and loans, understand the roles of debt and equity, gain insights into a lot more real estate concepts like appraisal, market analysis etc.
