[Journalism] Class Advice from Dr. Bridges.

Journalism Division classes for the fall need to be considered carefully
because we cannot offer all classes each semester.  So, please plan for
fall and spring of 2013-14.

If you are a news-editorial major, J214 is a consideration as is J316.
The latter will be offered only in the fall and will include writing for
off-campus publications as part of the class.  

If you are a public relations major, you should take J328.

For both sequences, J115, J335 and J445 will be offered in the fall and
not in the spring of 2014.  Take them in the fall.

Broadcasting majors can take J445 in the fall.  If a minor, consider the
courses above as needed.  See your adviser, Dr. Dempsey or Dr. DeMars.

If a class is closed, or you need a permit for a class, see me in person
and we can seek a solution.   

                                                Summer I

 

Journalism 425 for public relations majors will be offered in the summer
one session.  I will permit sequence majors into the class even without
the prerequisites because we have not been able to offer the classes in
sequence.  It is a case studies class, which most students can handle
without too much difficulty.  See Dr. Bridges with questions.  It will
give you a good start on PR.

 

Students interested in J495 should see Dr. Bridges immediately.  I have
already talked to several students.  You need approval to enroll.
Otherwise, you will be dropped from J495. 

 

Thank you for enrolling in pre-registration early.  It helps all of us
