The summer and fall class schedules for 2010 will be posted
soon, and the Journalism Division encourages students to take advantage
of these opportunities to register in advance.
In the summer, Mr. Stewart will offer a special topics class
second summer term dealing with sports journalism. In the first summer,
J425 will be offered for public relations students who need this class,
as some majors have indicated they do. The class is usually taught in
the fall. If J425 does not have sufficient enrollment, the class will be
offered in the fall semester. Mr. Stewart's sports class also must have
sufficient enrollment.
Internship (J495) will be offered in both semesters, and
those majors who wish to undertake their internship this summer should
see Dr. Bridges before enrolling, as internships must be approved
beforehand. If you need help in pursing intern positions, see the
faculty.
For the fall, the schedule is limited basically to required
courses, so if you need J115, J214, J316, J335 or J329, enroll, for
those probably would not be offered in the spring of 2011. We are
trying to offer courses needed to enable a student to move through the
curriculum.
New advising procedures say anyone past the basics and 30
hours needs to talk with journalism, although I am sure the Success
advisers might be willing to help you. But please be aware of the
recently-implemented changes. They may send you to us.
Thank you,
Dr. Bridges
