Journalism students,

Pre-registration for the spring term of 2007 begins Wednesday, October 18.

It is important that you register for the required courses that you need.
We cannot offer each course each semester. So, "grab" the course you need
next spring ('07).

Those on the news-editorial sequence should take J314 if you have had J214.
Editing, or J315, will be offered. Be sure you have J115 and J214 before
enrolling or talk with Ms. Hannah Barton.

For public relations majors, enroll in J329, the next course. It will not
be offered for another year.

All majors should enroll in J260 and/or J336 if you need those courses.
Again, we will not offer them until the spring of 2008.

For those needing an internship, please visit with Dr. Bridges and obtain a
packet outlining the requirements. Permission will be granted for J495 once
your internship is approved and your professional supervisor is contacted.

SUMMER of 2007: we of course do not know how many courses we can offer, but
it is probable that Journalism will not offer too much.

At this point, I am thinking that we might offer J425 IF enough public
relations students need it to keep moving through their sequence. Any
feedback will be appreciated. I am also thinking that we might offer a
special topics couse, perhaps in sports journalism. Anyone interested??

Most importantly, take the required courses you need NOW. We have had some
students not taking courses in order and without passing the prerequisites.
This is particulary true of J315.

See us if you need help in advising.

Dr. Bridges
