<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">The Office of International Programs (OIP) has noticed that a significant number of international students who apply for OPT fail to complete comprehensive examinations,
theses or other required courses, and so are unable to graduate in the last semester. Please note that it is your responsibility to complete these requirements and graduate during the 12-month OPT. The OIP will not process STEM OPT applications, if students
have not graduated from TAMU-C. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">We understand some could have applied early for OPT with the hope of finishing their programs, only to fail a course or two at the end of the semester; hence, they are unable
to graduate. The F regulations give you the opportunity to concentrate on these academic requirements during OPT so you can graduate before the 12-month OPT is over.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Going forward, OIP will scrutinize all paperwork for STEM Extension OPT in collaborations with the Registrar’s Office for undergraduates and the Graduate School for graduate
students, to ensure STEM OPT Extensions are completed <b><u>only</u></b> for those who have completed all requirements and graduated.
