The State Fair is a great opportunity to experience Texas culture at its finest. For more information please go to <a href="http://www.bigtex.com/sft/index.asp">http://www.bigtex.com/sft/index.asp</a>. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'>Brenda Brand in the office says that “as a Texan and a resident of the Dallas area I have gone to the State Fair of Texas for over 30 years and it is one of the best ways to see people, products, and talent from Texas and around the world. Take a camera, there are a lot of fun and interesting things to take your picture with. Sit in a bring shiny new truck or fancy car, touch an animal you may have never gotten close to, see handmade crafts, and new and innovated products. Take a backpack for the free items that you may find. There are many things to see and do at the State Fair each year and I enjoy going every time.” <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><b><i><span style='background:yellow;mso-highlight:yellow'>The cost for the trip is $20 (cash or money order made out to TAMU-C) which includes transportation to the state fair grounds and admission to the fair</span></i></b>. Seats are limited and we will need a minimal number of participants for the trip. Students may sign up <b><i><u>in person</u></i></b> (no emails/phone calls or group sign up by one person) at the ISSO and the $20 registration is required at sign-up to reserve a seat. The deadline to sign up is Monday, September <span style='color:#1F497D'>24</span> at 5pm. No refunds after September 24<sup>th</sup> and no transfers. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>We will <b><i><u>depart at 10:30am</u></i></b> from parking lot “E” next to the student center (building #28) on the online campus map at <a href="http://web.tamu-commerce.edu/aboutUs/contactUs/campusMapDirections/map/map.pdf">http://web.tamu-commerce.edu/aboutUs/contactUs/campusMapDirections/map/map.pdf</a>. There is a fabulous laser light show, Illumination Sensation, each evening at 8pm that concludes the fair events for the day and we will depart after the show and expect to return to Commerce by 11pm.
