July 4 as Independence Day because it was on July 4, 1776, that members of the

windowtext;text-decoration:none'>Continental Congress</span></a>, meeting in <a
href="http://www.factmonster.com/cgi-bin/id/A0108580.html"><span
style='color:windowtext;text-decoration:none'>Philadelphia,</span></a>
Pennsylvania, adopted the final draft of the <a
href="http://www.factmonster.com/cgi-bin/id/A0814928.html"><span
style='color:windowtext'>Declaration of Independence</span></a>. Over time,
various summertime activities also came to be associated with the Fourth of
July, including historical pageants, parades, picnics, baseball games,
watermelon-eating contests, and other celebrations. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

will be a free showing of fireworks. To locate Exit 101 Fireworks take I-30
East of Greenville then take Exit 101/HWY 50 like you would be coming to
Commerce and merge onto the service road to your right. You will see Exit 101
Fireworks immediately to your right. Bring comfortable seating and refreshments
to enjoy as you watch the fireworks. <o:p></o:p></b></p>
