pleased to announce we are accepting applications for the Fall 2010
International Lion <span style='color:black'>Scholarship (ILS).</span><span
style='color:#1F497D'> </span><b><span style='color:red'>APPLICATIONS FOR THE
ILS ARE DUE BY FRIDAY, MAY 7 AT 1PM AND MUST BE <u>SUBMITTED IN PERSON</u> AT THE
ISSO IN HALLADAY 104. BRING YOUR CAMPUS WIDE ID WHEN YOU SUBMIT YOUR
APPLICATION.</span></b><span style='color:#1F497D'> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:#1F497D'><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'>The ISSO</span> will award a total
of <b><span style='color:red'>four (4) $1000 competitive scholarships this
fall- <u>to two (2) currently enrolled F-1 international undergraduate
student</u> and <u>to two (2) currently enrolled F-1 international graduate
student</u>. <o:p></o:p></span></b></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><b><span style='color:red'><o:p> </o:p></span></b></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>Students must be <b><u>currently</u></b> enrolled in a full
course of study <b>(12 semester credit hours for undergraduate and 9 semester
credit hours for graduate) </b>this spring 2010 semester and registered for <span
style='color:black'>a full course of study at the time of application for the
fall</span> 2010 semester at Texas A&M University- Commerce to be
eligible. Students also: <o:p></o:p></p>
<ul style='margin-top:0in' type=disc>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l1 level1 lfo3'>Must be an F-1 visa
international student currently enrolled in a full course of study and
have not applied for permanent residency or had an H1-B visa petition
filed on their behalf during spring or summer semester. Students
with a pending change of visa status to F-1 or from F-1 to another visa
status will not be eligible. <o:p></o:p></li>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l1 level1 lfo3'>Must maintain a valid F-1
status and not apply for or be approved for a change of status from the
F-1 visa during the award period. <o:p></o:p></li>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l1 level1 lfo3'>Must have been enrolled in
a full course of study for previous semester.<o:p></o:p></li>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l1 level1 lfo3'>Must be enrolled in a full
course of study for the fall semester <b><span style='color:red'>at time
of application</span></b> and enroll in a full course of study for the
spring semester. There are no special requirements for students
enrolling in the summer. <span style='color:black'>Students
graduating in fall 2010 are not eligible.</span> <o:p></o:p></li>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l1 level1 lfo3'><b><u>Must have a 3.5 or
higher GPA at time of application and maintain a 3.5 or higher GPA for award
period<o:p></o:p></u></b></li>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l1 level1 lfo3'>Must be in good academic
and disciplinary standing with the university <o:p></o:p></li>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l1 level1 lfo3'>Must be in good financial
standing with the university<o:p></o:p></li>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l1 level1 lfo3'>Must include an original
letter of recommendation from academic advisor/department on department
letterhead with application. <o:p></o:p></li>

<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'>The four (4) fall recipients of
the scholarship will each be awarded a $1000 competitive scholarship ($500
fall/ $500 spring) and the student will be eligible for the in-state tuition
waiver for the 2010-2011 academic year (fall, spring, summer). The
scholarship is only for the 2010-2011 academic year and is not
renewable. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

receive any emails regarding the ILS will not exempt a student from the
