the International Lion Scholarship (ILS), a $1000 competitive scholarship, for
the first time this spring 2010 semester to one (1) F-1 international
student. <b><u><span style='color:red'>Please see the attached
application for more information.</span></u></b> <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><b><u>Only students who were enrolled in a full course of
study (twelve (12) semester credit hours as an undergraduate student or nine
(9) semester credit hours as a graduate student)at Texas A&M
University-Commerce for the fall 2009 semester and are currently enrolled in a
full course of study for the spring 2010 semester will be considered. </u></b><o:p></o:p></p>

<p class=MsoNormal>The recipient of this scholarship:<o:p></o:p></p>
<ul style='margin-top:0in' type=disc>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l1 level1 lfo3'>Must be a continuing F-1
visa international student currently enrolled in a full course of study
and have not applied for permanent residency or had an H1-B visa petition
filed on their behalf during spring or summer semester.<o:p></o:p></li>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l1 level1 lfo3'>Must have been enrolled in
a full course of study for previous fall semester<o:p></o:p></li>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l1 level1 lfo3'>Must be enrolled in a full
course of study for the spring 2010 semester. There are no special
requirements for students enrolling in the summer <o:p></o:p></li>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l1 level1 lfo3'><b>Must have a 3.5 or higher
GPA at time of application and maintain a 3.5 or higher GPA for spring and
summer semesters<o:p></o:p></b></li>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l1 level1 lfo3'>Must be in good academic
and disciplinary standing with the university <o:p></o:p></li>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l1 level1 lfo3'>Must be in good financial
standing with the university<o:p></o:p></li>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l1 level1 lfo3'>Must include an original
letter of recommendation from academic advisor/department on department
letterhead with application <o:p></o:p></li>

<p class=MsoNormal>Applications for the ILS will be due <b><u>no later</u></b>
than Monday, January 19 at 4pm in the ISSO in Halladay 104. <b><u>Students
must submit their application in person (no exceptions).</u></b> Please
bring CWID when submitting your application. Email, faxed, late, or
applications dropped off by friends <b><u>will not</u></b> be considered.
Students who fail to include a letter of recommendation from their academic
advisor/department will not be considered. The ILS recipient will be
announced via email no later than 5pm on Thursday, January
