Fall 2007 semester has already begun. Welcome new students and welcome back
returning students. I wish ALL of you a good start and a successful semester.<br>

Please read this important information and take action on the items that apply
to you and your situation.<br>
<br>
1. To maintain your legal F-1 status, it is the
responsibility of ALL international students to:<br>
<br>
• Register and maintain your full time course
load (at least 9 hours for grad and 12 <br>
hours for undergrad) throughout the
semester. <b><span style='font-weight:bold'>Only 3credit hours of
Internet <br>
course</span></b> can be used to
fulfill your full time course load, the rest must be face-to-face<br>
courses. Contact the International
Student Adviser (ISA) if you have questions. <br>
<br>
• Report your new address directly to the
International Student Office (ISO) within
10 <br>
days of the change. You can submit
your change of address online <br>

12.0pt'>• Check the expiration date of your I-20 (page 1, # 5) and
contact the ISA to extend <br>
your I-20 within 30 days
before the expiration date. A new bank statement and a

copy of your degree plan are

12.0pt'>2. For NEW students who enrolled at TAMU-Commerce for the first time

style='font-size:12.0pt'>4. For students who are 20 hr GA/TA or are enrolled in
your last semester and registered for less than required
course load this semester (less than 9
hours for grad and 12 hours for undergrad): <br>
You must report your reason for taking
less than your required hours to the ISA <br>
before the 12th class day to prevent
being reported in SEVIS as out-of-status.<br>

5. For students expecting to complete your course of studies and graduate
at the end of Fall 2007 and plan to apply for CPT or OPT, you must read the
information on CPT and OPT and obtain ALL required documents before making an
appointment with the adviser. You must have all completed CPT or OPT
application package ready with you at the appointment. If your CPT or OPT
application package is not complete, your appointment will be canceled and you
must re-scheduled your appointment for later date.<br>
